The Continental Indoor Football League is pleased to announce the players of the week. The awards are based on play from the weekend of May 1.
Offensive Player of the Week
Victor Tolbert, Marion - Tolbert scored six times in Marion's 64-39 win over Miami Valley. Four of his touchdowns were via the ground game that set a CIFL record for 184-yards rushing by a team in a game. Tolbert ran the ball 11 times for 109 yards. He also caught three passes for 17 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kurt Ware, Wisconson - Ware finished with 6.5 tackles and three sacks in the 33-32 win over Fort Wayne at Hartmeyer Arena. The biggest of his tackles preserved the victory as he stopped Brandon Williams at the one-yard line on the last play of the game.
Special Teams Player of the Week
Travis Johnson, Cincinnati - Johnson converted 8 of 9 extra points in the 62-22 win over the Chicago Cardinals. He also recovered an onside kick and had two tackles on kick coverage.
